A license that has transitioned has moved up to a higher level license from the one that they had previously had.

If I completed the CBC application online and my prints have been submitted electronically do I have to mail the extra set of finger print cards that the police department gives me?

No, if you have completed a live scan application and the police department sent your prints electronically to the SBI we will not need the fingerprint card. Keep it just in case the electronic prints are rejected.

How long are licensure applications valid for?

Applications are valid for 2 years

What happens if I fail the national exam while my application is on file?

The application will be denied if a person fails the exam twice while their application is on file.

Do I have to renew my license if I am applying for a higher level license the same year that my current license is up for renewal?

You would have to renew your license if you have not been issued your license prior to your current license expiring. For example: If an LCMHCA is applying for their LCMHC in 2018, and their LCMHCA renewal is due by 6/20/18. They will need to renew their license if they have not granted their LCMHC license prior to their LCMHCA renewal date.

What does final approval mean?

Final approval means that we have everything that we need for your application, and you are waiting for final approval from the board.

Can we receive continuing education online, and is there a limit?

Yes, continuing education can be completed online and there isn’t a limit on how many you can receive online.

Does NCBLLCMHC keep track of LCMHCA’s supervised professional hours?

After the 2nd quarter of 2015 the board stopped keeping track of LLCMHCA’s hours. It is the responsibility of the Supervisee and Supervisor to keep a log of hours that have been completed. The Board does not require the submission of hours on Quarterly Supervision Reports. All hours are to be reported to the Board on Final Supervision reports.
